Alison Freeman

Last but by no means least is the brilliant Ali Freeman, the creative mind of fwd_ctrl. Currently working for the immense AKQA, she is an advertising guru in the making. Working on some major projects for the likes of Galaxy and SingStar, Freeman is dominating.

Chris&Dunn

The creative pair of fwd_ctrl have just updated their site with some great work. After just doing at 2 month stint at Nexus/H and currently doing work to the internationally reputable Mill, they are definitely on the up. Below is some of the web content they did for Suzuki. Great work guys!

De Facto

Nottingham based De Facto caught my eye this morning by pure chance, I was looking for my good friend Fred [Perry]. The crafters of everything, from beautifully classic print campaigns to pixel splitting new thinking TV spots, have got a wealth of eye candy on their site and really have an talent for, amongst many, knowing their audience, example being all their work for Fred Perry (I can say this with some authority as per the fact I was looking for Fred this morning and do most mornings). Pictured about is the 2002 Fred Perry Icon Book, written by Paolo Hewitt, which was created on a framework of “heritage with contemporary relevance”, perfect way to say 50 years of FP. By trawling their site I also stumbled across the Subculture site, a great find and a homepage to any trendies in the room. Cherry on Top? Avant Garde.

Keep It Simple, Stupid

Another risky promotion to come from those trusty merchants Diesel, this time in the form of encouragement of a lower intilect*. The campaign ,which succeeds the famous Dirty Thirty and the viral which made the rounds, promotes the message that the lack of thinking things through results in a better time, something that they have been pushing for years but finally had the balls to come out and say it.

*spelt incorrectly to make me slightly cooler according to Diesel.

Mini Cooper S by Krink

NY based Krink hit again with the trademark dripping icons with this brilliant short for Mini Cooper S. The effect it has on the car is really striking and the whole short is directed well too. If it wasn’t probably massively illegal and utterly dangerous to have a car tricked out in this fashion I think my blue bullet would undergo the same treatment.

Umeric

Twitter follows normally mean someone is clicking follow every which way but loose on anyone to make them buy something from them or read their rants on the latest blockbusters. However when we saw that Umeric were following us we decided to check out their (rather brilliantly constructed) site and were greeted with some really nice work. Below are the idents they were commissioned by MTV for, rather interesting takes on the classic MTV logo. Having gained gold and silver at Promax earlier this month for the MTV idents, Umeric seem to have an undeniable style that is getting some serious media attention. They also have a fine collection of Maneki Neko cats if your into Japanese porcelain figurines.

Speechbreaker

I may not be the most informed when it comes to politics, but I know a great bit of negative campagining when I see it. Created by Lean Mean Fighting Machine the interactive site lets you rearrange words uttered at speeches by the leaders of the three main political parties (CR wisely observed that it was probably funded by the lib dems as the only utterance that you can make sense with them is “choose the liberal democrats”). Its genius for the simple fact that they are not saying anything bad about any party, they leave that joyful honour to you. Found via Gavin Lucas at Creative Review. Try it athttp://www.speechbreaker.co.uk. Below is my rather poor attempt.

Hong Kong Express

null
We got a nice treat in the post at fwd_ctrl yesterday from Educational Technologies Hong Kong of some promotional work we did for their 2010 Sydney Convention. They were also nice enough to inform us that the postcards (below) and posters we currently making their way to their offices in India, Taiwan and Australia to name a few. As we have just finished hooking up the lighting in our photo/film studio we thought we would try out a few snaps. Updates for all the work we created for ETL to be updated to the fwd_ctrl site soon.

Crush Design

After a 10 hour stint in front on Dreamweaver I can hopefully be forgiven for a short blog post, but after scoping some of the work produced by Brighton based Crush I could think of no better way of ending the day with a mention of their work. Show below is some illustration work for Guardian Society.
