How Could You Say No.Zine

null

No.Zine is an independent arts magazine run by London designer Patrick Fry. The zine features variety of young artists, designers, writers, photographers and illustrators from a wide range of contributers including the allonethought favorite Shaz Madani. From the smattering of images on the No.Zine site one can deduce that this publication is a thoughtfully set slice of fried gold to be found in book shops and art spaces all over London. Although it doesn’t say exactly where, this only lends an air of enigma to proceedings, and if mystery and hunting isn’t your forte you can always purchase online from the No.Zine shop for the very reasonable price of a fiver. I am always one for a good find and seek but I am also slightly lazy when it comes to tubing it around London so therefore will be purchasing online this afternoon.

Shaz Madani

null

With an impressive portfolio for some hefty clients, its hard to believe that Shaz Madani only graduated from the London College of Communication in 2008. Working in editorial design, she creates beautiful pieces of print that are well considered and sensitively typeset. I really enjoyed flicking through her work for Topshop this morning and it provided a distraction from my own type based dilemmas (60 articles to fit in a 20 page publication, no one needs that). With media forecasters everywhere saying that print is slowly gravitating towards oblivion, we rely on people like Madani to save us all from iPad induced screen glare comas.

Hederus Lookbook SS 2010

null
I had the pleasure of chatting to Julia Hederus a while back to discuss some packaging ideas for her K-Swiss range. Since then she has gone from strength to strength and realeased some interesting stuff. Her latest offering is the Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook titled “Del Ray Ghosts”. She predicts that the new decade will see specter inspired clothing, good news for all of us whose skin tone is only influenced by the glare from their Mac. Not seen the finished article yet but if her previous work is anything to go by Del Ray Ghosts will be a good look.

Adam Morris

I have come across Adam Morris’ work a few times and have always been impressed. His branding work in particular stands out as good clean visual communication. Below is a shot of some of the branding/promo work he has done for Guildford Music Festival. Also for perfectionistas in the ranks, take note of his presentation of the work on his site.

Sunny Hwang

A good little find for a Sunday morning, and given the fact the Sun is out here I couldn’t resist posting. Sunny Hwang is a recent graduate from the New York School of Visual Arts and has a good selection of editorial work to browse, including the Paste Here interactive magazine. Along with the nice visuals of the current street art culture it has a smattering of stickers to use in your own unique way, i defy anyone not to like something that has stickers.
